Summer Program and Recruiting

Miller Shakman offers attorneys the opportunity to engage in a high quality, sophisticated and diverse practice in a small, informal environment. The firm hires attorneys and law students who have excelled academically and who have demonstrated an ability to assume responsibility and leadership roles. The firm’s goal in hiring is to select law students and associates who will one day participate as members of the firm.

Associates receive both hands-on training as well as more formal training through participation in practice area seminars and in trial advocacy courses, such as NITA. The firm encourages associates to assume increasing responsibility for transaction and litigation matters as their abilities and skill levels develop. The firm integrates its summer associates into various long-term and short-term projects so that they can develop a sense of what it would be like to be an associate at the firm.
